The Destined are an Acoustic Pop Rock band hailing from Sydney, Australia. Forming in June 2008, Longy (Andrew Longhurst), Rich Waqanivalu and Luke Barnett came out with a bang! Recently added to the lineup is Mikey Groom who has hit the ground running with the guys.
The Destined is a blend of all their influences from Rock to pop to folk in acoustic form. Their music melds melodic vocals, catchy riffs, punchy bass and some great beats that you can't help but get up and dance to. It's easy listening which expresses their journey and life experiences. September 2009 saw The Destined record their first EP - The Journey, which is available in iTunes and at the Show. This year in August the second instalment of their recorded repertoire will be laid down onto disc for everyone's listening pleasure with the new EP - Chemistry Set, available from the October long weekend 2010 - watch this space!!!
Always looking for new challenges and fresh sounds, they are constantly working hard at changing, adapting and creating new ear catching tunes which have great lyrical content and reflect their faith in Christ. Citing some of their musical influences as The Almost, Emery, Anberlin and City & Colour there's no wonder these guys love rocking out and doing what they do best!
With their combined passion for music, Christ and all things fun, there's nothing more enjoyable for them than playing to an audience with everything they have, sharing themselves through their music, and are never too busy to hang out with fans and other bands before and after a show.
